Florida Gymnast Selena Harris-Miranda Earns Double Honors
Although Selena Harris-Miranda’s competition in Gainesville is over, her season is far from finished. The senior was named Inside Gymnastics National Gymnast of the Week and SEC Gymnast of the Week Tuesday.
Harris-Miranda delivered a near-perfect performance in No. 3 Florida’s senior night victory over No. 2 LSU. She placed first in the all around with a 39.85, the nation’s second-highest score of the season.
The Las Vegas native posted 9.95s on vault, floor and bars, earning a perfect 10 on beam.
This was Harris-Miranda’s first perfect score of the season, coming a week after sophomore Skye Blakely earned the Gators’ first of the year. It marked a fitting yet ironic end to her time competing at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center.
“I started gymnastics hating beam,” Miranda-Harris said. “I’d sob all the time. Now, I’m ending my career with it as my favorite event.”
Her collegiate career total now sits at nine perfect 10s, with six on vault, one on bars and two on beam.
Harris-Miranda has earned the SEC Gymnast of the Week award five times, including twice this season. She was also SEC Specialist of the Week the first two weeks of the season.
She previously earned the same Inside Gymnastics honor in January 2025 following a meet against Georgia, where she posted the nation’s highest all-around score.
Florida will look for another strong performance from Harris-Miranda when the Gators face No. 22 Kentucky in their final regular-season meet Friday.
