Gators Swim and Dive Sends Strong Group to NCAA Championships

March 12, 2026

Over the course of four days, Florida divers had their shot to qualify for the NCAA tournament at the 2026 NCAA Zone B Diving Championship at the Gabrielson Natatorium in Athens, Georgia. The Gators did not disappoint.

In an effort to prove that the Gators could not only compete but dominate at a national level, freshman Jesus Agundez-Mora, sophomore Jesus Gonzalez and junior Camyla Monroy have earned NCAA qualifying spots in all three diving events.

Agudenz-Mora set a program record in the men’s three-meter Tuesday with a score of 859.20.

After finishing fifth in the one-meter with a score of 749.35 on Monday, he also finished ninth in platform with a 719.10 score Wednesday, securing his spot at NCAAs in all three events.

Monroy is the Gators’ only women’s diver to qualify in more than one event. She never finished below fourth place in any event.

Monroy finished top of the podium in the platform dive with a final score of 649.00, third in the one-meter with a score of 628.75, and fourth in the three-meter to top it all off with a combined 672.35 score.

Tuesday marked the third consecutive year she qualified for NCAAs in all three events.

“She [Monroy] is gaining confidence with every list,” head diving coach Bryan Gillooly said. “That’s a great sign leading into NCAAs.”

Junior Conor Gesing, the one-meter All-American, also punched his ticket to NCAAs in both one-meter and three-meter spring board events. This marks his third-consecutive year qualifying for the one-meter event.

“The men’s contest … was the best diving I’ve seen in my 15 years coming to this zone meet,” Gillooly said. “Last year’s winning score on one-meter would have placed 11th yesterday.”

“For our men to be on top in a field like this speaks volumes about our team.”

Sophomore Jesus Gonzalez squashed all doubt by also sweeping the men’s platform events.

After earning silver at the SEC tournament on platform in February, Gonzalez got his redemption and totaled a combined score of 851.

“The big story was Gonzalez,” Gillooly said. “Banged up knee, back against the wall, he came out and dominated the competition from start to finish … The young man has heart.”

Senior Casey Greenburg and freshman Alexa Fung also qualified for NCAAs. Greenburg will make her second consecutive NCAA platform appearance. She ended the platform finals with a score of 530.25. Fung will compete in her NCAA debut in the one-meter event after tallying a combined 564.65 score.

Freshman Ava Brinkman finished ninth overall in the platform event after advancing to the finals. She fell just short of the seventh place mark that would qualify her for NCAAs. She finished with a combined 486.10 score.

Senior Elisha Dees ended his Gator career in his NCAA Zone B debut where he finished 13th with a combined 700.50 score on platform.

Qualifying Gators are now preparing for their biggest test yet. They will keep their momentum going, and with two divers finishing at the top of the podium Florida has a target on its back.

The Gators travel to Atlanta, Georgia at the Georgia Institute of Technology’s McAuley Aquatic center for the NCAA DI Swimming and Diving Championships. The women will compete from March 18-21, and the men will follow on March 25-28.

“Gator divers got the job done this week and are hungry for more,” Gillooly said. “We are far from finished.”
