Gabbi Koury Wins Third Big 12 Midfielder of the Week

March 26, 2026

Florida junior midfielder Gabbi Koury is heading into conference play with momentum.

After scoring a career-high four goals in Florida’s 13-10 win over Dartmouth on Saturday, Koury was named Big 12 Midfielder of the Week for the third time this season. The latest honor adds to what has already become one of the best seasons of her college career and gives the Gators another reason to have confidence as they prepare to open Big 12 play Saturday at Arizona State.

Koury did a little bit of everything in the win over Dartmouth. Along with her four goals, she added three draw controls and one forced turnover. Her third goal, scored with 11:54 remaining in the third quarter, pushed Florida’s lead to 11-8 and stood as the game-winner in the 13-10 victory at Donald R. Dizney Stadium.

Koury’s latest performance was no surprise. Her game against Dartmouth marked her fourth straight game with at least a hat trick. It was also her third game this season with four points. Against Dartmouth, she posted three draw controls for the fifth time this season.

That kind of all-around production has made Koury one of Florida’s most important midfielders. Her impact on multiple fronts, whether by scoring, helping in transition, winning draw controls or forcing turnovers proves she is becoming a central piece of Florida’s push into conference play.

Her rise has also come after a season in which she showed promise while dealing with adversity. In 2025, Koury appeared in 19 games and made five starts while missing four games because of injury. Even with that setback, she totaled 20 goals, 11 assists and 43 draw controls.

Since the start of her Florida career, Koury has stood out as a player to watch. As a freshman in 2024, she appeared in all 23 games and led Florida freshmen in goals, with 11, and points with 17. Before arriving in Gainesville, she built an impressive high school and club resume that included multiple All-American honors, but her recent stretch may be the clearest sign yet that she is settling into a larger role at the college level.
