Selina Harris-Miranda Wins WCGA Region 5 Gymnast of the Year

Historically, No. 3 Florida gymnastics does not leave the postseason without individual accolades.

After winning the Tempe Regional all-around competition with a nation-high score of 39.825, Selena Harris-Miranda earned the Women’s Collegiate Gymnast Association Region 5 Gymnast of the Year on Wednesday. The senior is the 11th Gator to win the award in program history and the first since Trinity Thomas in 2023

The Las Vegas native earned four All-American honors in the 2026 regular season, adding to her career total of 18. Each of those achievements from the WCGA were first-team: all-around, vault, bars and beam. 

Harris-Miranda also ranked top 10 nationally on those events, including a No. 2-ranking on the balance beam with two perfect scores this season. Her third-career beam 10.0 came against No. 22 Kentucky on March 13.

The versatility from Harris-Miranda shows in a team-high 23 event wins for Florida, including five all-around titles in nine meets competing all four events. She posted the nation’s second highest all-around total (39.85) against No. 2 LSU on March 8. 

The 2025 SEC Newcomer of the Year, Harris-Miranda earned SEC Gymnast of the Week in weeks four, nine and 10 this season. She also won her second-straight individual conference title with a perfect score on bars at the SEC Championship.

Harris-Miranda earned All-SEC honors in the past two years with Florida since transferring from UCLA after her sophomore season. 

With her leadership, Florida’s appearance in the NCAA Championship in Texas marks the program’s fifth trip in the past six years. Harris-Miranda’s success in the Tempe Regional shows promise for what can be expected out of the all-arounder in the NCAA Semifinals on Thursday.
