Gators Ace Keagan Rothrock No-Hits Gamecocks in Opener

April 11, 2026

Seven innings, eight strikeouts, 111 pitches and no hits.

Keagan Rothrock delivered a dominant no-hitter at the South Carolina Softball Complex as No. 6 Florida defeated No. 24 South Carolina 5-0.

It marked Rothrock’s (20-4) third career no-hitter as a Gator and her first since the 2024 season.

Florida (37-5, 11-4 SEC) got on the board in the second inning when Cassidy McLellan drove in Townsen Thomas with an RBI single to left field.

Both offenses remained quiet over the next four innings. Rothrock struck out the side in the third, while Florida struggled to generate additional offense.

The Gators broke through again in the sixth. After Ava Brown loaded the bases with a walk, McLellan drew a bases-loaded walk to extend the lead to 2-0. Ella Wesolowski followed with a sacrifice fly, scoring Kendall Grover to make it 3-0.

Rothrock continued to control the game in the circle, piling up strikeouts and keeping South Carolina (23-18, 3-10 SEC) off the basepaths.

In the seventh, Thomas added insurance with a two-run home run to left field, pushing Florida’s lead to 5-0.

Rothrock ran into brief trouble in the final inning, issuing two walks, but recovered to strike out the final two batters and secure the no-hitter.

She finished with her 14th complete game and fifth shutout of the season.

Florida will look to build on the win in Game 2 of the series against the Gamecocks on Saturday at 3 p.m.
