Keagan Rothrock Earns NFCA, SEC, and Softball America Pitcher of the Week

As Gator softball continues a dominant season, one player has stepped onto the circle and elevated the team to new heights. 

Junior Keagan Rothrock earned National Pitcher of the Week from three different outlets Tuesday. She was recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association, Softball America, and the SEC following her third career no-hitter against South Carolina on Friday. 

Rothrock had eight strikeouts on the day ,allowing only four hits and six walks. Her performance propelled  the Gators to their third SEC sweep of the season in a 5-0 win over the Gamecocks. Florida followed the first game of the series with a 15-2 win on Saturday and 6-1 win on Sunday. 

As a sophomore, Rothrock led the Gators in strikeouts (105), innings pitched (131.2), and complete games (9). To start the season, she went 31.2 innings without allowing a single earned run. She also threw an impressive four complete game-shutouts throughout the year. 

Rothrock has continued being a force for Gator softball this season. She has a career best ERA of 2.43 this season with a 21-4 record and a .184 opponent batting average.

Rothrock and the Gators jumped up to No. 7 in the country according to USA Softball after the sweep and are looking ahead to a mid-week matchup against FGCU on Wednesday.
