Episode 6 of The 35 — WRUF 98.1’s summer countdown of the greatest athletes in University of Florida history — airs live today at 2 p.m. Five more names will be revealed, and the Mount Rushmore conversation begins.
No. 10 through No. 6 get revealed today. These are the Gators who define what this university means to American athletics. A two-time national championship coach who won 82 percent of his games. The greatest defensive end in Florida history and a two-sport Hall of Famer. A center who turned down the NBA Draft to come back and win a second national championship. The holder of the world record for international goals in the history of soccer. And a swimmer with 12 Olympic medals who is somehow not the best swimmer ever to come out of this program.
You’ll find out who they are today at 2 p.m.
The Greatest Gators Moments Bracket has also reached the Elite 4. The Sweet 8 results will be announced live on air today — then two semifinal matchups go live immediately after. Voting closes Thursday, June 26 at 1:59 p.m.
