Incoming Gators Gymnast Wins Three Medals at Pan American Championships
An incoming Florida gymnastics freshman came up big in Rio de Janeiro at the 2026 Pan American Championships.
The U.S. Senior National Team won gold in the team finals Wednesday, nearly four points ahead of Brazil and Canada, with the help of Florida’s Simone Rose.
She placed third in the individual all-around competition Wednesday with a 53.198 score, pushing the United States to victory. The two-per-country limit prevented Rose from qualifying, while Utah 2027 commit Claire Pease and Charleigh Bullock, a member of the 2028 signee class, finished first and second in the finals, respectively.
The U.S. scored 161.628 to qualify for the 2026 World Championships in Rotterdam, Netherlands, in October. The roster will be decided after the 2026 USA Gymnastics Championships wraps up Saturday in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Rose won two silver medals individually in the event finals. After finishing sixth on vault, Rose recorded a 13.333 score on bars, two-tenths behind Iowa junior Aurelie Tran of Canada.
She also tied with Argentina’s Isabella Ajalla on beam, recording the highest score of 13.7. However, Ajalla’s execution score was higher, breaking the tie to win gold and grant Rose the silver medal.
