Florida Gators Softball Legend Skylar Wallace Makes AUSL History
Skylar Wallace has been rewriting record books since her days at Florida. On Thursday night, she did it again.
The Gators softball legend became the first player ever in the Athletes Unlimited Softball League to hit three home runs in a single game.
Wallace’s 5-for-5 performance at the plate lifted the Chicago Bandits over the Carolina Blaze 15-7. In addition to her three homers, she had a single, double and 7 RBIs.
“Obviously really special,” Wallace said about the historic performance. “I think if you prepare really well, you get to play free in the box.”
The southpaw slugger drove the Blaze pitching staff crazy in the two-game series. Wallace went a combined 9-for-10, with 4 homers, 9 RBIs and 9 runs.
After Thursday’s win, the Bandits clinched a spot in the AUSL playoffs.
“We just love to compete,” Wallace said. “It shows we really trust each other. You can feel that, you can feel the energy, the love, the passion, the care and the integrity of this team.”
Wallace — who leads the AUSL in batting average (.571), steals (5), runs (20), on-base percentage (.630) and slugging percentage (1.119) — has been an excellent hitter since her time at Florida. The three-time All-American still holds the record for most runs in a career in NCAA history (307). At UF, she etched her name all over the record books as the program’s all-time leader in : batting average (.410), stolen bases (119), slugging percentage (.789) and on-base percentage (.560)
During her last season at Florida in 2024, she was a unanimous all-American, All-SEC first team and the SEC tournament most outstanding player.
