Jaguars Trade for Daniel Faalele, Send Late-Round Draft Pick to Giants

August 19, 2026

The Jacksonville Jaguars brought in a new face to bolster the trenches Wednesday.

The Jaguars acquired offensive lineman Daniel Faalele via trade Wednesday in exchange for a sixth round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.

Faalele spent the last four months with the New York Giants but was traded just four days following the team’s first preseason contest Aug. 15. He signed with New York on April 9 in hopes of reuniting with new Giants coach John Harbaugh, who signed a five-year deal in January after spending the past 18 seasons with the Baltimore Ravens.

Selected in the fourth round of the 2022 draft, Faalele started all 17 games of the 2024 and 2025 regular seasons with the Ravens.

Now, Faalele will work with Jacksonville’s offensive line after the team has faced a plethora of injuries during training camp. Tackles Cole Van Lanen (knee), Chuma Edoga (left leg), Walker Little (ankle) and Geron Christian (undisclosed), plus guards Patrick Mekari (back) and Wyatt Milum (undisclosed), have all been banged up throughout the offseason.

“We came into the camp with 16 and got down to about nine the other day,” Jaguars coach Liam Coen said Wednesday. “So when you have some of those things occur and you want to continue to find guys that have done it, guys that have played in this league at a high level.”

Faalele brings much-needed depth to the room. The Minnesota product also stands at 6-foot-8, 380 pounds. His frame is 2 inches and more than 60 pounds greater than the next heaviest right guard on the Jaguars’ roster (Ezra Cleveland).

He primarily held down the right guard position during his Baltimore tenure and played 1,011 snaps at the position in 2025. While not slated in a starting spot immediately, the Bradenton, Florida, product brings decent value to Jacksonville in return for a late-round pick.

“He’s got some big size and I’m looking forward to getting to know him, but the experience is really what matters,” Coen said.
