Brandon Spikes Joins WRUF’s Sports Lab Every Monday at 2 p.m.
WRUF is expanding its Monday football coverage with the addition of former Florida Gators and NFL linebacker Brandon Spikes, who will join Kevin Winter in studio for the full hour of Sports Lab at 2 p.m. each week, starting this Monday, August 31.
Spikes will call in to make the announcement himself at 2:15 p.m. today.
“I am proud that on the most important non-gameday on the football calendar, WRUF will be able to bring Gator Nation over eight hours of Gator football content,” said the station’s announcement of the new lineup.
Spikes, a former first-team All-American at Florida and a Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots, spent his playing career under two of the sport’s most recognizable coaches — Urban Meyer in college and Bill Belichick in the NFL.
“This is a tremendous opportunity for Gator Nation to hear from one of their beloved players,” the announcement continued. “Someone who knows the game of football inside and out. Someone who played for two of the most well-known coaches at their respective levels in Bill Belichick and Urban Meyer and has knowledge of the game that many of us can’t see or comprehend as quickly as he can. I truly believe this will be something Brandon will embrace, and I hope it becomes his next act post-football.”
