Jaguars Inactives vs. Browns: Jacksonville Open 2026 Season Healthy

Ahead of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ season opener against the Cleveland Browns, a few players who were expected to be game-time decisions after battling injuries throughout the offseason were cleared. 

However, none of their names were listed on the inactives list Sunday. Instead, the inactives were emergency quarterback Quinn Ewers, rookie safety Jalen Huskey, rookie tight end Tanner Koziol, offensive lineman Daniel Faalele and defensive ends Bryan Thomas Jr. and Wesley Williams.

Headlining the list of injury concerns was offensive lineman Cole Van Lanen, whose right knee injury — suffered in Week 18 of the 2025 season — has defined his offseason and limited him in practice throughout training camp. 

When the Jaguars released the list Sunday, though, Van Lanen was not named.

LeQuint Allen Jr. was also off the list Sunday. Allen suffered a hip injury that kept him out of practice Wednesday and limited him in practice Thursday and Friday. Coen did not seem optimistic when he addressed the media Sept. 2 regarding the running back, stating that he would be pleasantly surprised to see him on the field for Week 1. 

However, he will also be good to go against the Browns, along with Anton Harrison, another recent development in the injury department, with his foot injury recently limiting him in practice. 

While unexpected, wide receiver Jakobi Meyers will be active after being limited by a thumb injury in practice. 

The news leaves Jacksonville just about as healthy as it could hope for Week 1. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at EverBank Stadium.
