Gators Volleyball Dominates Dolphins to Extend Win Streak

Florida volleyball extended its winning streak to seven matches Wednesday with a 3-0 sweep against Jacksonville at the O’Connell Center.

The Gators (9-1), who improved to 20-0 all-time against the Dolphins in their first meeting since 2018, controlled the match (25-18, 25-21, 25-13) despite Jacksonville’s defensive efforts.

Florida continued its strongest run since winning 10 consecutive matches in 2024 by opening with a three-point run before Jacksonville (6-7) responded with one of its own. The Dolphins found opportunities against the Gators defense, with outside hitter Abbie Tyuo recording three kills.

After the teams tied it at 9-9, senior setter Taylor Parks delivered a kill to put Florida back in the lead. Kamryn Chaney led Florida with six kills to help the Gators maintain control. Lily Hayes and Bella Lee each added an ace to help Florida secure the first set.

Jacksonville was able to challenge Florida in the second set by taking its first lead of the match at 3-2. The teams tied 15 times and recorded six-lead changes before the Gators were able to get the final lead.

A four-point run gave the Gators a 23-19 advantage and forced Jacksonville to use both timeouts late in the second set. Florida closed out the set 25-21 despite committing five attacking and four service errors.

Florida carried that momentum into the third set, recording seven aces and 12 kills to get a 23-13 victory. Sophomore Olivia Kilmis entered for Parks late in the set to hel[ Florida complete the sweep.

Parks led Florida’s offense by finishing with 30 assists and a .667 hitting percentage.

“She’s our leader, she kind of runs the show, her and Lily do a really good job of handling first and second touches,” UF coach Ryan Theis said. “Their job is to make other people look good.”

The Gators open SEC play at Oklahoma (7-2) at 3 p.m. ET Sunday (SEC Network+).

“Ryan always talks about the most important game as the next one,” Parks said. “So going to Oklahoma this weekend, focusing on them, scouting them and preparing for what they do.”
