Skye Blakely Earns Another Gymnast of the Week Honor

March 3, 2026

Florida gymnast Skye Blakely earned her second conference accolade of the season, landing SEC Specialist of the Week.

The sophomore recorded her first career 10 against Texas Woman’s, Arizona State and Fisk on Friday, contributing to a program-record 49.8 team score on beam, and No. 4 Florida’s first perfect score this season.

“It’s always probably one of the most core memories that a gymnast can have when you get your first 10,” coach Jenny Rowland said. “Really grateful for her to be able to have that performance in that competition in her home state in front of all of her family and all of her friends and her former club coaches. I think it just made for an extremely special moment for her and the team.”

Blakely also set a career-high 9.975 on the uneven bars to help the team secure the meet title.

The Frisco, Texas, native is no stranger to SEC honors. She was named SEC Specialist of the Week after setting collegiate bests on floor, beam and bars in a meet against Arkansas on Jan. 30. She also earned Inside Gymnastics National Gymnast of the Week for that performance.

Blakely now has a permanent spot in Florida’s practice gym, getting a plaque on the perfect 10 wall. The recognition will be placed next to a familiar face for her.

“Her picture gets to be put right underneath her sister’s here in the gym, so really special,” Rowland said.

The Gators are nearing the end of a winning season with just two meets left in the regular season, including one final home meet Sunday against No. 2 LSU at 5:45 p.m. They look forward to their senior night on Sunday, celebrating Lori Brubach, eMjae Frazier, Selena Harris-Miranda and Riley McCusker.
