Gators Gymnastics Posts Nation’s High in Back-to-Back Weeks

No. 3 Florida gymnastics closed its regular season in historic fashion against No. 22 Kentucky.

The Gators posted a 198.575, the highest NCAA team total of the season, breaking the record they set last week against No. 2 LSU. Florida recorded its highest scores of the season on bars and vault and tied its season high on beam.

Sophomore Skye Blakely, junior Kayla DiCello, senior Selena Harris-Miranda and fifth-year Riley McCusker each posted a 9.95 on bars. Senior eMjae Frazier tied her season high with a 9.925, helping the Gators earn a 49.725 on the event. 

Frazier delivered some of her best performances of the year for her last regular season meet. She set personal season highs on beam and vault with a 9.975 and 9.9, respectively. 

Harris-Miranda recorded another perfect 10 on beam for the second consecutive week. The Las Vegas native also scored a 9.95 on floor and a 9.875 on vault to win the all around with a 39.775, followed closely by Blakely’s 39.750.

The Gators scored a 49.8 on beam, matching their program record from the TWU quad meet on Feb. 27. Blakely, DiCello and junior Alyssa Arana each scored above a 9.9 on beam, allowing Skylar Draser’s 9.775 to be dropped. 

Florida also tied its second-highest floor score of the season (49.575). Blakely scored a 9.95 and freshman Amelia Disidore posted a career-high 9.925.

Kentucky totaled a 197.225, the team’s second highest score of the season. Anna Flynn Cushion won the vault title with a 9.95, while Creslyn Brose earned a 9.95 on floor to share the event title with Blakely and Harris-Miranda. 

The Gators will need to carry this momentum headed into next weekend’s SEC Gymnastics Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
