Christ’s Church Clobbers Oak Hall Football

October 4, 2026

Jacksonville Christ’s Church Academy spoiled Oak Hall’s homecoming game with a resounding 41-6 drubbing Friday night.

Christ’s Church Academy (6-1) proved to be the better of the two Eagles squads, never trailing Oak Hall (4-2).

Oak Hall entered the matchup with a strong rushing attack led by the half-brother backfield duo of running back Darius Medley and quarterback BJ Johnson.

Meanwhile, CCA’s high-powered offense is led by dominant senior halfback Jaylin Robinson, who had 22 touchdowns, including 13 in his previous two games before facing Oak Hall.

Things looked promising for Oak Hall  to begin its first  drive when opening with a 33-yard  rush by Johnson.

However, the drive  stalled to bring on a punt.

Christ’s Church wasted no time by scoring in three plays. Two Robinson rushes got CCA from its own 35 to Oak Hall’s 30. Senior quarterback Adam Berquist finished the drive with a 30-yard touchdown strike to junior Ellias Nelson.

CCA would never relinquish its lead. Oak Hall’s next four drives were fruitless: Punt, punt, turnover on downs, interception.

Meanwhile, Christ’s Church kept scoring. Following Oak Hall’s second punt, Robinson ripped a 68-yard touchdown run with 3:50 to go in the first quarter, giving CCA a 13-0 lead.

CCA led 21-0 after another ENelson score at the end of the first quarter.

The Christ’s Church offense kept humming after Oak Hall’s turnover on downs. Robinson, donning a new jersey No. 4 after an issue with his usual No. 5 uniform, kept CCA ahead of schedule with a first-down rush. Junior wide receiver Palmer Cowart cashed in with a 32-yard touchdown catch a couple plays later.

Christ’s Church entered the second half with a 28-0 advantage. Robinson tacked on another score with 8:37 remaining in the third quarter to extend the lead to 35-0.

Oak Hall didn’t score until the game’s final play, when Johnson rushed for a TD as the running clock expired.

“We’ve gotta get back to fundamentals — blocking and tackling. Because they both sucked,” Oak Hall coach RJ Fuhr said. “Football’s blocking and tackling, and we did poorly at both.”

Oak Hall next plays at Jacksonville Old Plank Christian Academy (4-3) at 7 p.m. Friday.

“We’re 4-2, and a lot of teams would be happy to be 4-2, so we just gotta come back,” Fuhr said. “Adversity reveals character, and, hopefully, they’ll be ready to come back Monday.”
