With a little over two weeks before playing its opening game of the 2011 season, the Gator football team continues to practice and prepare.
Fortunately, there have not been a lot of injuries and the big stories from camp seem to be position moves and freshmen trying to figure in the playing time picture. Freshmen like defensive back Marcus Roberson, quarterback Jeff Driskel, punter Kyle Christy, linebacker Chris Johnson, defensive back Pop Saunders and receiver Ja’Juan Story are all looking to play this season.
At wide receiver, coach Will Muschamp says there are still three guys that have stood out and he still says they are searching for more depth along both lines of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.
Muschamp has raved too about the play of Chris Rainey, Jeff Demps and Trey Burton, calling them “game ready” right now and several other players could be in the mix shortly as well.
