Gator Hoops Has Exhibition With Catholic University Tonight
The Florida men’s basketball team will play its only exhibition game of the season tonight when it hosts Catholic University. You can hear the game live on WRUF Sports Radio 850 starting at 6pm with a one hour long pregame show.
Gator coach Billy Donovan will face his son Billy Donovan who plays for Catholic. He is a sophomore shooting guard there.
And while that matchup will be watched obviously this will be the first chance to see the 2011/2012 Gator team. Florida will not have sophomore Scottie Wilbekin for the game as he is out with a broken finger.
Florida will have a three guard starting lineup as veterans Kenny Boynton and Erving Walker will be joined by freshman Bradley Beal. Patric Young will be the starter at the five spot while Erik Murphy mans the four spot for Florida.
Gator coach Donovan confirmed his team had a “secret” scrimmage with UCF recently that he hopes will help his team play and do well in this game and for the season opener against Jackson State in a few days.
