No. 1 UF Baseball beat the Georgia Bulldogs in the series opener Friday night, 3-2, after 16 innings. Nolan Fontana was up to bat, with 2 outs and 2 strikes, and teammate Vickash Ramjit was on third. On the third strike, Georgia catcher, Brandon Stephens, dropped the ball and Fontana bolted down the first base line, avoiding the tag out. Stephens then overthrew the ball to first allowing Fontana to be safe, and Ramjit to score the winning run for the Gators.
