The nationally ranked Gator baseball team travels to face another nationally ranked team in the Kentucky Wildcats as the teams play a three game series starting tonight. You can hear the game live on Country 103-7 The Gator starting at 7:30pm.
Hudson Randall will get the start for the Gators on the mound; he will face Kentucky lefty Taylor Rogers.
Florida trails Kentucky by two games in the SEC race with nine games to go but perhaps more importantly, the Gators need to improve on a 9-9 April to get a top eight national seed that will allow them to host NCAA Regionals and Super Regionals if they win.
The Gator pitching situation is a bit muddled as well; Karsten Whitson will start tomorrow with a Saturday starter to be named. Austin Maddox, Florida’s closer, was pulled last weekend with a tired arm and Gator coach Kevin O’Sullivan says he is day to day but could pitch this weekend.
If he cannot go, starter Jonathan Crawford may move to the bullpen but that decision has not been made yet.
