The Florida Gator volleyball team makes it thirteen straight victories as they remain undefeated at the O’Connell Center, sweeping both Ole Miss and Auburn over the weekend.
Florida is now 9-0 in SEC play, and 15-2 overall, but Sunday’s game looked different then Florida’s other fourteen wins.
With all of the attention on the play of freshman Ziva Recek, Sunday’s game was one lead by the upperclassmen. And with a new, smaller Gator team that sees a lot of success on the outside, this one was dominated in the middle.
Senior leadership came from Betsy Smith, who set a career high with a .917 hitting percentage. Gator head coach Mary Wise says that Smith’s success comes as a result of her hard work.
Meanwhile, Chloe Mann also had a career night, totaling 20 kills and seven blocks. She also set a season high with a .679 hitting percentage.
Florida has a total of twelve games left on the schedule, with three home weekends left. Only one out of conference game left for Florida as well as they head to Tallahassee to take on the Seminoles next week.
