Will he or won’t he?
That’s the question many are asking today and that question concerns the status of South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore.
Lattimore has a bruised hip, and depending on who you talk to, he will not start, or he will not play, or he will start this weekend against Florida in Gainesville.
Lattimore does have a hip injury, and it did seem strange last week at LSU when Lattimore barely touched the ball in the second half in a close loss to the Tigers. Veteran Kenny Miles could see more playing time this week at tailback for the Gamecocks.
Meantime, Gator coach Will Muschamp said during the SEC Teleconference Wednesday that his team was getting healthier and that only wide receiver LaTroy Pittman would be ruled out of Saturday’s game from the other Gator players who were hurt last week against Vanderbilt.
All those players, like offensive linemen Jon Harrison, James Wilson and Xavier Nixon, tight end Jordan Reed, defensive tackle Dominique Easley and linebacker Jelani Jenkins should be back practicing and available to play Saturday.
The Gamecocks may also discipline defensive tackle Kelcy Quarles internally after video showed he punched an LSU player last week. However, coach Steve Spurrier said he may not play much anyway because of a bruised shoulder.
