This Friday the Florida Gator soccer team will look to further advance in the NCAA Tournament. The No. 2 regional seed Florida (18-4-1, 11-2 SEC) will play host to UCF (17-4-2, 8-3 C-USA) on Friday in 2nd round action of the NCAA Tournament. Florida coach Becky Burleigh says advancing in the tournament has been and remains to be the team’s primary goal.
Florida played UCF earlier this season, but Burleigh expects the team to play much differently as they developed through the season.
Last week the Gators went into their game with some injuries and Burleigh comments on the recovery of some of the injured players and their status going into this game.
Burleigh says although UCF beat Florida last year (3-2), the Gators don’t play with the intent of revenge. She says her team functions more on composure than emotion.
Burleigh says again that advancing in the NCAA tournament is the team priority. She compliments UCF’s team as a whole and says Friday’s game should be a good one.
You can tune in to ESPN Radio 850/900 for live coverage of Friday’s game starting at 6:50pm.
