Courtney Hogan Named SEC Soccer Freshman Player of the Week

October 27, 2026

Courtney Hogan had been on the pitch for only four minutes and netted her first collegiate goal against No. 25 Auburn last Thursday. Hogan earned a crucial point for the Gators with the goal and earned herself freshman conference honors.

Hogan was named the SEC Freshman Player of the Week after scoring the leveler in Florida’s 1-1 draw at Donald R. Dizney Stadium.

A three-star prospect by TopDrawerSoccer.com out of Camarillo, California, Hogan entered the match in the 27th minute. Less than four minutes later, she tucked away Zoe Main’s low cross with a first-time finish into the bottom corner.

“I was scared I was going to miss, but, obviously, it was an amazing ball from Zoe [Main],” Hogan said. “I just felt good to see it hit the back of the net.”

Hogan emerged as a key part of Florida’s rotation in her first collegiate season, appearing in all 16 matches, making seven starts and logging 683 minutes (10th most on the roster).

Hogan is now the fourth Gator this season to earn an SEC weekly award. Senior forward Kyra Taylor and senior goalkeeper Jayden Emmanuel earned SEC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors after Florida’s 3-1 upset over defending national champion Florida State on Aug. 23. Bailey received SEC Offensive Player of the Week recognition following her last-minute winner against then-No. 5 Alabama on Oct. 8.

“It was just really great to be surrounded by teammates and the girls I consider sisters,” Hogan said. “It was such a team goal and it was really collective.”
