Here’s your Week 12 football preview from around the SEC.
While most SEC schools are using Saturday to play their end of the season cupcake games, there are some key SEC matchups with bowl elibility on the line that are rounding out conference play this week.
The seventh ranked LSU Tigers (8-2) are hosting the Ole Miss Rebels (5-5) in Baton Rouge. While Ole Miss is out of contention for the SEC West title, the Rebels need one more win to become bowl eligible. LSU head coach Les Miles talks about the Ole Miss offense and how it has improved.
That game has a 3:30pm kickoff on CBS.
Another SEC West matchup is the Mississippi State Bulldogs (7-3) returning home to try and snap a three game losing streak as they take on the Arkansas Razorbacks (4-6). Arkansas needs to win their last two games to be bowl eligible and head coach John L. Smith talks about how the Razorbacks are preparing for the Bulldogs.
That game is set for 12:21pm on the SEC Network.
The last SEC gridiron battle of the week involves SEC East foes the Vanderbilt Commodores (6-4) taking on the Tennessee Volunteers (4-6) who have yet to beat an SEC opponent this season. Vols head coach Derek Dooley sits on the hot seat after multiple close losses this season. Dooley says the biggest challenge the team faces is believing they can win after being knocked around.
Kickoff for that game is 7pm on ESPN2.
The rest of the SEC is entering Candy Land with cupcakes games galore. Here’s the breakdown on those games.
The sixth ranked Florida Gators (9-1) are spending Senior Day in The Swamp with Jacksonville State (6-4) this year.
