Friday Sports Update (11/7)

The Gator men’s basketball season opens up, college football, NFL, NBA and high school sports too in our Friday Sports Update…

** The Gator men’s basketball team opens its season with a 79-70 win over Division II Barry College.   Gator coach Billy Donovan was not happy about his defense in the win; UF opens its season next week against William and Mary.

** The Santa Fe Saints volleyball team gets a win in the state tournament by beating Daytona State College in five games yesterday; today, SFC plays top ranked Miami Dade College.

** In college football, Clemson tops Wake Forest 34-20.

** In the NFL, Cleveland pounds Cincinnati 24-3.

** In local high school football, Santa Fe ends its season with a 41-13 win over Keystone Heights.   Tonight, Gainesville is at Wakulla, Eastside is at Bradford; Buchholz hosts Fort White; Bronson is at PK Yonge and Lafayette visits Class 1A number one Dixie County.

** In the NBA tonight, Orlando hosts Minnesota and on Saturday the Timberwolves will be at Miami.
