Gator Hoops Loses In Wednesday Sports Update (12/31)

The Florida men’s basketball team loses a close one, bowl games, NBA, and some NFL news in our Wednesday Sports Update…

** The Florida men’s basketball team loses at FSU 65-63 on Tuesday in a game that was close all night.   The Gators tied the game at 63 and then with under a second left in the game, Florida’s Jacob Kurtz inadvertently tipped in an FSU shot attempt to give the Seminoles the win.  Florida is now 7-5 and will host Connecticut Saturday.

** In the NBA, Detroit overpowers Orlando 109-86.  The Magic are off today while Miami is at Indiana.

** In college football bowl games yesterday, Notre Dame edges LSU 31-28 to win the Music City Bowl; Georgia downs Louisville 37-14 to win the Belk Bowl and Stanford wins the Foster Farms Bowl by routing Maryland 45-21.

** Three bowl games today; the Orange Bowl has Mississippi State facing Georgia Tech; the Peach Bowl has TCU and Ole Miss and the Fiesta Bowl matches up Arizona and Boise State.

** Jim Harbaugh is now officially the new coach at Michigan after agreeing to a seven year deal.

** In the NFL, the Jacksonville Jaguars fire offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch after the team struggled for most of the season on that side of the ball.
