The Florida baseball team loses the first game of a three game series at Georgia Friday night by a score of 10-1. Florida is now 33-13 overall anjd 13-9 in the SEC and Georgia improves to 22-23 overall and to 7-14 in league play.
Florida took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a sacrifice fly by Mike Rivera but that’s all the runs the Gators would get as they were held to only four hits in the game by Georgia starter Davis Sosebee, who went eight innings for the win.
Gator starter Logan Shore took the loss. He was ineffective, pitching just two and a third innings, giving up five runs on five hits. For Georgia, second baseman Mike Bell had four hits and four rbi and first baseman Jared Walsh also enjoyed a four hit day.
The win by Georgia was its first at home this season in SEC play.
