The 12th ranked Gator soccer team is in Knoxville Friday night for an SEC match up against rival Tennessee. Florida is in seventh place in the SEC, while the Volunteers are sixth.

Florida last took the field a week ago where they tied Kentucky 1-1 in double overtime. The Gators outshot the Wildcats 27-6, but only found the net once when Savannah Jordan scored her league leading 13th goal. This was the Gator’s first regular season tie since the 2013 season.

Tennessee is coming off a 1-0 win over Georgia last week where Amy Neal scored her team leading fourth goal in the 60th minute. The Volunteers strong point is their goalkeeping. Redshirt senior Julie Eckel has eight solo shutouts on the season and leads the SEC with a .39 goals against average.

These two teams met twice last season; once in the regular season and once in post season play. The Gators came away with a 3-1 win during the regular season after they got two goals from Savannah Jordan. Tennessee would came away with the win though during the SEC tournament. After a 1-1 double overtime tie, the Volunteers got the advantage in penalty kicks 5-4.

The Orange and Blue lead the all time series 15-8-3, but are only 3-5-1 when in Knoxville. When on the road this season though the Gators are 5-2. Match time from Knoxville is set for 7 p.m.
