CFB Preview: A Couple Georgia Teams Duke It Out on the Gridiron

November 19, 2015

The Georgia Bulldogs will welcome Georgia Southern to Athens Saturday night as the Eagles will try to pull off the upset.

Last week, Georgia beat Auburn 20-13 thanks to Bulldog running back Isaiah McKenzie’s punt return for touchdown in the fourth quarter. McKenzie had a second touchdown also off of a four yard run finishing the day with 26 yards on 4 carries. Th Bulldogs used a run-heavy attack as the team gained 146 yards off of 45 attempts, with Florida-native Sony Michel having the most yards with 77.

For Georgia Southern last week, they dismantled Troy 45-10, scoring 45 straight points. The Eagles’ run game had four separate backs run for a touchdown. As a whole, the team rushed for a strong 326 yards.

Georgia head coach Mark Richt says that this game should be a challenge for the Bulldogs partly because they are so well- coached.

This match up should be a good one with each teams’ rushing attacks as Georgia has the 32nd best rushing offense and Georgia Southern has the best in division 1 and should be taken seriously. Both rush defenses are strong as well as the Eagles have the 35th best rush defense while the Bulldogs have the 36th best rush defense in FBS.

But if this game comes down to the passing game, this will be a tough game for Georgia Southern because not only has Georgia Southern’s pass offense struggled this year, but Georgia has allowed the fourth least yards in Division I.

Kickoff from Sanford stadium is set for 7 o’clock.
