Three More NFL Head Coaching Spots Filled
In a year filled with many head coaching vacancies in the NFL, three more spots have been filled within the last 24 hours.
Chip Kelly is the most recent hire as he has been signed to lead the San Francisco 49ers as the team’s 20th coach in franchise history. He will be formally introduced as the team’s new head coach during a news conference next week.
Kelly joins the 49ers after being fired by the Philadelphia Eagles prior to Week 17. Kelly went 26-21 in three seasons as an NFL coach.

Among the other hires, is new head coach of the Cleveland Browns, Hue Jackson. He previously served as the offensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals last season.

Jackson also served as head coach of the Oakland Raiders in 2011, where he went 8-8. However, he took much criticism for a trade involving Carson Palmer that didn’t pay off well for Oakland. Jackson says he is ready for a second chance as head coach in the NFL.
According to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, the New York Giants will promote offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo to head coach. He has served as offensive coordinator for the Giants for the past two seasons.

After a 6-10 season, Tom Coughlin stepped down from the position following 12 years with the franchise.
The hiring of McAdoo will allow stability for Eli Manning and the Giants’ offense. Under McAdoo as offensive coordinator, Manning has 65 touchdowns and 28 interceptions and completed 62.8 percent of his passes.
McAdoo is also expected to hire former Dolphin’s head coach Joe Philbin to add to the offense.
