NCAA Tournament Preview: Iowa State vs. Virginia

NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen play continues tonight as the East and the Midwest wrap up their regional semi-finals. Tonight No. 4 Iowa State and No. 1 Virginia face off at the United Center in Chicago for a spot in the Elite Eight.

With the Cavaliers (23-11) as the favorites to win this game, the Cyclones (28-7)  will need to counteract Virginia’s high offensive efficiency, and control the tempo of the game a bit. These two teams are a contrast. Iowa State is the more fast paced of the two, averaging 86 points per game and Virginia averaging 79 points per game.

Junior point guard Monte Morris will be Iowa’s saving grace, averaging 13.9 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game as well as 6.9 assists per game. His teammates will look to him to get the ball back in their possession and create plays to take home the victory.

Many Iowa State fans made the trip to support their Cyclones and will be cheering on the Cyclones as they try to upset Virginia.

This game is sure to excite from start to finish and you can catch the action on CBS at 7:10 p.m.
