Good Day in Columbia

The Gators had a late start in the first set, but quickly tied it up 7-7. They kept up the energy and quickly pulled ahead, closing out the first set 25-18.

Beason started the second set with an electric kill, setting up the Gators for an exciting set. Victoria had her first error, but that didn’t slow them down. The Gators fought back and forth with the Gamecocks all through the set, but came out victorious with a final score of 25-22.

Beason once again started the set with a bang, serving a huge block on the first point of the third set. The Gamecocks took their first lead since the beginning of the first set and kept that lead throughout the third, ending the third with a 25-16 win.

Heading into the fourth set, the Gamecocks had the confidence and stamina to put up a fight, but ultimately the Gators came through with their seventh straight win. The Gamecocks’ hitting errors were their downfall, and allowed the Gators to pull ahead and win the set 25-19.
