SEC Releases Gators Softball 2024 Schedule

Wednesday, the Southeastern Conference released the Gator softball team’s conference schedule for the 2024 NCAA Softball season. Florida’s SEC schedule features some highly anticipated matchups.

Building Off the Past

After a return to the NCAA tournament last year, the Gators are excited to continue what looks to be another promising season. The 2023 campaign featured a number of highs and lows, but ultimately, the Gators came up short on their bid for glory, losing to the Stanford Cardinal in the Palo Alto Regional.

Fuel to the Fire

Despite the heartbreaking loss, the Tim Walton led Gators are looking to get back in the mix and compete. Luckily, the team still remains as stacked as ever, bringing back quality talent including the 2023 SEC Player of the Year Skylar Wallace. Wallace led the Gators in multiple offensive categories last season, and she’ll look to lead the Gators farther in the postseason.

Looking Towards the Future

Conference play will begin on March 8 and run through May 5. The regular-season conference schedule includes eight three-game series for each team for a total of 24 games.

The Gators will premiere in a number of primetime games throughout their 2024 campaign. The schedule features a rematch against the Georgia Bulldogs, which Florida went 2-1 against in 2023. Other notable faceoffs include Alabama and Kentucky in March, followed by LSU, Missouri and South Carolina in April. The Gators will hope to compete for a spot in the SEC Tournament, which runs from May 7-11.

Countdown to Gametime

Rankings for the 2024 season have yet to be announced, but the Gators hope to be featured favorably in the polls. As the clock ticks down to the start of the season, Florida looks to begin game planning and preparing their arsenal. The Gators will begin conference play against Alabama on March 8 in Tuscaloosa.
