Tua Tagovailoa Slams Teammates After Dolphins’ Latest Collapse

October 12, 2025

The Miami Dolphins endured a gut-wrenching collapse in Sunday’s loss against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa crafted a 13-play, 82-yard touchdown drive to take the lead with 46 seconds remaining. He found tight end Darren Waller in the back of the end zone to put Miami on top 27-26.

Before Dolphins’ fans could sit back down after celebrating the score, Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert found wide receiver Ladd McConkey for 42 yards. Kicker Cameron Dicker nailed the game-winning field goal just three plays later.

The 29-27 loss sparked Tagovailoa to call out his fellow teammates in his postgame conference.

“I think it starts with the leadership and helping articulate that for the guys,” Tagovailoa said. “We have guys showing up to player-only meetings late, guys not showing up to player-only meetings.”

The quarterback went 21-for-32, threw for 205 passing yards, one touchdown and three interceptions.

The loss against the Chargers put Miami at 1-5 on the season. Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel is now 29-28 with the Dolphins in his fourth year at the helm and has experienced backlash for this year’s lack of success.

“We have a job to do,” McDaniel said postgame. “Our job is not to just take a bunch of (losses), so we need to go back to work and be tough minded and figure out how we’re going to attack the next opponent.”

The Miami front office has been ridiculed throughout this season, echoing the sentiment of years prior. General Manager Chris Grier, a member of the organization since 2000,  has held his current position since 2016. The last Dolphins’ playoff win came in 2000.

The poor time management skills from McDaniel and questionable decisions from the front office have led to immense frustration in Miami.

“I trust the team of coaches and players to be strong-minded [and] understand the nature of the business and attack it full-fold, and we’ll attack it when the sun rises tomorrow,” McDaniel said.
