Florida Track and Field Standouts Secure 11 All-SEC Indoor Honors
The SEC released the 2026 All-SEC Indoor Track and Field teams for both the men’s and women’s seasons Tuesday, and Florida represented strong. Eleven Gators earned recognition across the three conference teams.
The All-SEC selections are split into first, second and third teams. These honors are based on how athletes finished at the SEC Indoor Championships. Florida athletes showed up across several events, landing 8 podium finishes during the meet.
On the women’s side, five Gators were named to the All-SEC Second Team. Those athletes include Malia Campbell, Layla Haynes, Bethan Morley, Hilda Olemomoi and Claire Stegall.
Four of them (Campbell, Haynes, Morley and Stegall) earned their honors as part of Florida’s women’s distance medley relay team. The group delivered one of the biggest moments for the program at the meet. Its time of 10:46:45 set the new No. 1 mark in program history, breaking the previous record by more than five seconds. The performance also secured a silver medal and a runner up finish at the SEC Championships.
Stegall added another strong result on her own later in the meet. She finished second in the women’s mile with a time of 4:30:81, giving Florida another podium finish in the distance events.
Olemomoi continued the steady run she has built during her career in conference competition. The senior earned her fourth straight indoor All-SEC honor after finishing on the podium in both the women’s 3,000 meter and 5,000 meter races. Across those two events, she scored 16 points for Florida. That total earned her the Cliff Harper Award, which is given to the top women’s scorer at the SEC Championships.
In addition to the women’s accomplishment, Alida van Daalen placed third in shot put, while Asia Phillips finished third in triple jump, giving both athletes third-team recognition.
Florida also had a strong presence on the men’s side of the All-SEC selections. Jarno van Daalen, Wanya McCoy and Oussama Allaoui were all named to the Second Team after runner up finishes in their events at the SEC Indoor Championships.
Van Daalen posted a throw of 20.14 meters (66 feet 1 inch) in shot put. The mark now sits No. 3 on Florida’s all time performance list. McCoy also returned to the podium in the 200 meters, finishing second with a time of 20:31. In the distance events, freshman Oussama Allaoui secured a runner up finish in the men’s mile, crossing the line in 4:02:80.
Florida also had athletes earn recognition on the All-SEC Third Team. Kelvin Cheruiyot collected two honors after finishing third in both the men’s 3,000 meter and 5,000 meter races during the meet.
Indoor track and field season at the NCAA Championships will be March 13 and 14 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
