Liv McGill Announces Commitment to Oklahoma State

April 14, 2026

Former Florida guard Liv McGill has found her new home

McGill announced Tuesday that she would be taking her talents to Stillwater to play for Oklahoma State.

After finishing her sophomore season in Gainesville, McGill entered the portal following the dismissal of coach Kelly Rae Finley. McGill averaged 22.5 PPG and 6.3 APG this season before announcing her intentions to transfer.

McGill, the highest-ranked recruit in program history, came to Gainesville with high expectations, but failed to lead the Gators to their first March Madness appearance since 2022.

Despite unsuccessful attempts to reach the dance, McGill still had a historical tenure at Florida.

McGill earned All-SEC First Team honors this season, marking the first Gators player to get selected to an end-of-season SEC title since 2024. McGill also set Florida’s single-season scoring record for a Freshman at 611 points.

Now, new Gators coach Tammi Reiss must turn the page without McGill. Currently, Reiss only has one player from this year’s squad on the roster after Me’Arah O’Neal entered the transfer portal Tuesday afternoon. Jade Weathersby is locked in for the 26-27 campaign, but Reiss is actively searching for players to fill out the roster.

Reiss has already landed two players from the portal. On Monday morning, former Butler forward Mallory Miller committed to Florida. Then, on Tuesday, Rhode Island guard Vanessa Harris announced she would be following her coach to Gainesville.
