Florida Women’s Golf Falls in SEC Tournament Semifinal to Auburn

April 20, 2026

Tied at two points apiece with another tie on the final match Monday, Florida and Auburn’s  SEC Tournament semifinal came down to one final hole.

Gators sophomore Siuue Wu and Tigers golfer Molly Brown Davidson went back and forth, but on the final hole, Wu logged a triple bogey and Davidson recorded a birdie to clinch the victory and move on to the conference championship final.

Florida fell in the semifinal 3-2 in match play to the Tigers at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair,  just hours after taking down Vanderbilt in the quarterfinal.

Playing even throughout the first few holes, Auburn moved ahead 3-2 midway through the match and was in position for an early victory with a two-stroke lead  in the final three matches through holes seven through nine. Florida’s two pairings featured graduate Megan Propeck and freshman Katelyn Huber.

The Gators found their stride when Wu squared her match on the 11th after trailing two strokes through eight. In front of her, Huber started to pull away in her matchup as the freshman won three straight holes to position herself up four strokes with five holes to play.

In her conference match play debut, Huber secured her second win of the day behind a par on hole 15, which gave Florida a 1-0 lead.

Propeck followed Huber quickly and put the Gators up 2-0 with her victory over No. 17 and the 2022 Augusta National Women’s Amateur Champion, Anna Davis. Propek, the former Virginia transfer, went undefeated in her first and only SEC Championship outing.

Meanwhile, Wu immediately took the lead with a birdie on the 14th to go up one stroke with four holes to play. Davidson responded by taking the 15th to tie the match.

As that happened, Auburn secured two points with a win by Katie Cranston against UF sophomore Addison Klonowski and a four-stroke win from Charlotte Cantonis against Gators sophomore Paula Francisco, who had just won the individual SEC title on Sunday.

Everyone turned their attention to the lone match between Wu and Davidson. The two tied the 16th and 17th and headed to the 18th as Davidson’s birdie clinched the match.

Florida will return to action at the NCAA Regionals from May 11-13 and learn their selection on April 29 live on Golf Channel.
