Gator Football Continues With Day Four Of Fall Camp

The pads are finally on and so is the competition as the Florida football team continues fall camp and prepares for their season opener against Bowling Green on September 1st. Originally split up into two practice squads at the start of camp, Florida head coach Will Muschamp has a full team out on the field now.

Before August, the last time the Gators were on the field was April 7th for the Orange and Blue game. It’s only been a few months but that hasn’t stopped Muschamp from complimenting his guys for their recollection of the game since the spring. Not even a full week of practice yet and Muschamp says the team is further ahead in the first couple of practices than he ever expected.

Some young guns getting some praise include freshman wide receiver Latroy Pittman. Participating with the veteran squad during split practices, Muschamp says they’ve been working him at different positions.

Another guy on the offensive side of the ball Muschamp touched on is freshman running back Matt Jones. With Mike Gillislee leading the pack in the backfield, Muschamp says the true freshman Jones can also impact the team this season.

Florida has the day off Tuesday before putting the pads back on to take the practie field again on Wednesday.
