Clark Hamilton Named as Addition to Tewaarton Watchlist
Florida Lacrosse landed its fourth player on the Tewaarton award watchlist on Wednesday. Sophomore Attacker Clark Hamilton was one of 12 players named to the list as a member of the first round of additions.
The Tewaarton award is awarded to the most outstanding player in both men’s and women’s lacrosse at the end of the season in May. The award was created in 2001 and is named after the Mohawk word for lacrosse, in honor of the sport’s native roots.
After being named to the preseason All-Big 12 roster in January, Hamilton has been an offensive force to start the 2026 campaign. She is leading the team with 18 goals and 24 points through the first five games.
Hamilton broke the record for most points by a sophomore in a game with 11 against Loyola Maryland on Feb. 17. She was named IWLCA National Offensive Player of the Week and Big 12 Attacker of the Week following the performance.
Hamilton is coming off of the heels of a historic freshman season, being only the second Gator freshman to net over 50 goals. She landed top five on the team in goals, assists, and overall points as well.
Hamilton joins Theresa Bragg, Kaitlyn Davies and Frannie Hahn as Florida’s current members of the watchlist. This addition moves Florida up to second for most mentions, tied with Boston College at four players on the list and only trailing North Carolina’s seven.
Florida is still searching for its first Tewaarton award winner in program history, with the team not having a finalist since Nicole Graziano in 2016. This season marks the first time Florida has had four players on the list since 2023.
Florida is currently ranked No. 8 in the nation in the latest Inside Lacrosse top 25 poll. The Gators have started the season 3-2 overall, with four of their five games coming against ranked opponents.
Florida will return home this weekend to host Mercer on Saturday at noon from Donald R. Disney Stadium.
