The Alabama Crimson Tide (16-9) will host the Mississippi State Bulldogs (11-14) today in a SEC men’s basketball match up.

The Crimson Tide has been turning heads recently, having won their past five games, including road victories over Florida and LSU and an upset over then 15th-ranked Texas A&M. Guard Retin Obasohan has been a huge factor for the Tide, and he is currently sixth in the SEC in points per game. Obasohan became the 49th player in Alabama program history to reach 1,000 career points during Alabama’s victory over LSU on Wednesday night. He scored a career-high 35 points in that game.

Alabama head coach Avery Johnson says Mississippi State will be looking to improve upon areas in order to get the win on Alabama’s home court after the Bulldogs lost to the Tide in Starkville on Feb. 2.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs currently rank near the bottom half of the SEC, with a 4-9 record in conference play, but the team is coming off a big victory over Vanderbilt. The Bulldogs beat the Commodores Tuesday night, 75-74. Vanderbilt had a double digit lead over Mississippi State early in the second half, but the Bulldogs rallied and Quinndary Weatherspoon made a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the team the victory.
