The Toronto Blue Jays are moving on to the American League Championship Series after beating the Texas Rangers last night 7-6, sweeping them in three games.
The winning run scored in the 10th inning. With a runner on second, Rangers second basemen Rougned Odor made an overthrow to first base on a routine ground ball; the wild throw allowed Josh Donaldson to score from second base to move the Blue Jays to the ALCS. Donaldson describes what ended up being the winning play.

During the regular season, these teams had a history of issues going back to May when Toronto’s Jose Bautista slid hard into Odor at second base; Odor took exception to the slide and punches were exchanged between Odor and Bautista, earning Odor an eight-game suspension. However both teams put their emotions on hold this series and no incidents took place. Donaldson says both teams fought extremely hard to try and win this game.
The three game sweep over the Rangers gives Toronto a couple days of much needed rest before the championship series starts. The Cleveland Indians and Boston Red Sox will face off Monday night in Game 3 of the ALDS; if Cleveland wins, they will play Toronto in the ALCS; if Boston wins, it will force a Game 4 in the ALDS.
