With March Madness beginning tonight, WRUF has compiled a list of the top Gator men’s basketball moments in the NCAA Tournament.

#10 Billy Donovan 2006 National Championship pregame speech:

#9 Florida advances to back-to-back Elite Eights: With Florida’s defeat over Marquette in the Sweet 16, the Gators returned to the Elite Eight for the second-straight year.


#8 Florida beats BYU in Jimmer Fredette’s last game:

#7 Florida’s “04’s” declare for NBA Draft: Arguably the best Florida basketball class in school history declares for NBA Draft after winning back-to-back NCAA National Championships.

#6 Florida reaches first NCAA Final Four:

 #5 Lee Humphrey nails seven 3’s in 2007 Elite Eight: Lee Humphrey makes a postseason school record seven three-pointers, as the Gators defeat the Oregon Ducks 85-77 and advance to the 2007 Final Four.

#4 Mike Miller and the Gators defeat Butler: With 7 seconds left, then-Florida sophomore Mike Miller drives down the court and makes a floating buzzer-beater shot to  lift the Gators to the Sweet 16.

#3 Florida advances to 2000 National Finals: The Gators defeat UNC to face the Michigan State Spartans in the National Championship.

#2 Florida wins first NCAA Tournament: The 2005-2006 Florida Gators squad wins its first NCAA Championship, defeating the UCLA Bruins 73-57.

#1 Florida wins back-to-back NCAA Championships:
