The 73rd annual NBA All-Star Game was the main event this weekend as Team Giannis took on Team LeBron.
The year’s All-Star game took place at Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah. Team Giannis ended up coming out on top and defeating Team LeBron 184-175.
In the 6 years that LeBron has been a captain, he was never lost an NBA All-Star Game. Team Giannis ended that winning streak for LeBron.

Team captain Giannis Antetokounmpo picked a record-breaking team as this was the first team to knock off the winning LeBron train. The last time Team Giannis took on Team Lebron was back in 2020 when Lebron came out on top, winning 157-155.
Current Boston Celtic Jayson Tatum broke the record for points scored in an NBA All-Star Game. Tatum scored 55 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists. Tatum’s record-breaking game earned him the 2023 All-Star MVP award. This will be Tatum’s first All-Star MVP award. Before Tatum, only two other All-star players have dropped 50 points in a game, Anthony Davis and Steph Curry.

Among Tatum, Team Giannis had two other stand-out players that helped secure the win. Donovan Mitchell whose nickname is Spida, dropped 40 points, 4 rebounds, and 10 assists. Damian Lillard dropped 26 points, had three rebounds, and four assists.
Between Tatum, Mitchell and Lillard, they scored 121 points out of the 184 winning points.

Team LeBron had a rough start as the captain only played around 14 minutes before leaving the game with a hand injury. In that short period of time, he put together 13 points, one rebound and four assists.
In the first half, Kyrie Irving, who recently got moved to the Dallas Mavericks, dropped 18 points, three rebounds and three assists. Overall, Ivring scored a total of 32 points with six rebounds and 15 assists.
Jaylen Brown, a Celtics teammate to Tatum, scored the most points for Team LeBron, at 35 points.
