Florida guard Liv McGill is named to the 2025 Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT) All-Tournament Team following a breakout postseason performance. The freshman standout tallies 69 points across four games, helping the Gators reach the tournament semifinals for the first time in over a decade.
Earlier in the postseason, Florida makes a strong push to the SEC Tournament quarterfinals. Building on that momentum, the Gators capitalize on their WBIT invitation with victories over Northern Iowa, UNLV and Texas Tech. However, their impressive run comes to an end with a semifinal loss to No. 2 seed Minnesota in Indianapolis.
In the absence of head coach Kelly Rae Finley, who steps away due to the birth of her child, assistant coach Susie Gardner, formerly Mercer’s head coach, steps in to guide the Gators in their final matchup.
Throughout the WBIT, McGill averages 17.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game. Notably, she delivers back-to-back 22-point performances against UNLV and Texas Tech. Additionally, she averages 3.5 steals per game, underlining her two-way impact. She finishes the tournament strong with an 18-point, nine-rebound showing against Minnesota.

“Liv was instrumental in our success throughout the WBIT,” says Finley. “Her leadership, playmaking, and intensity as a freshman set the tone for our team, and this honor is well-deserved.”
Beyond tournament accolades, the All-SEC freshman continues to make history—setting a new program record for most points in a freshman season with 611.
