Recap

A four-goal blitz in a time span of 21 minutes of play continued Tottenham’s tour de force in the second half of the season, propelling them to a 4-0 domination of Watford at White hart Lane.

It didn’t take long for Spurs to get in the flow of things, with Vincent Janssen having two opportunities saved inside the opening twenty minutes.

That was nothing to worry about though, as Dele Alli hit one of the goals of the week in the 33rd minute.

A quick counter-attack from the home side saw Alli receive the ball with space in the final third. After laying it off for Son Heung-Min, Alli drifted back out a few yards out from the box. Alli received the ball back from Son and unleashed a top-shelf curler from about 22 yards out. The ball swerved into the back of the net for Alli’s 17th league goal of the season and the Tottenham 1-0 lead.

After Eric Dier pounced on a loose ball six minutes later to make it a 2-0 game, it became the Son Heung-Min show from that point forward.

It was another counter attack, and Son got the ball with his back to goal in the final third. He turned, dribbled, and unleashed a low left-footed shot from 25 yards out. The ball flew into the lower left-hand corner of the goal to effective seal the deal.

But Son wasn’t done though.

Nine minutes after the restart, Tottenham right-back Kieran Trippier sent in an excellent cross from the right wing. The cross found Son alone at the back post and finished first-time for the brace and the 4-0 lead.

Most impressive for Spurs is they did all of this with Harry Kane on the bench for the majority of the match. That will give them confidence as they try to continue chasing league leaders Chelsea. They trail the Blues by seven points with seven games to go.

Watford, meanwhile, sit smack in the middle of the table in 10th. They sit on 37 points, nine points clear of the relegation zone.
