Florida Soccer falls to Duke, season ends at hands of Blue Devils

The Florida soccer team knew it was going into a tough environment when they took on Duke in the second round of the NCAA tournament. In the end, they weren’t able to overcome it, losing 1-0 to a prepared Duke squad in Durham on Friday.

The Gators conceded the only goal in the game in the first half, scored by Natasha Anasi off a corner kick in the 22nd minute. Duke’s Mollie Pathman and Kim DeCesare provided the two assists.

Florida had chances but was unable to muster an equalizer. The Gators end their season with an 18-5-1 record.

For Duke, they’ll take on Arkansas Sunday in the Sweet 16.
