Gator Soccer Opens Season Tonight

Hard to believe as it might seem, the ninth ranked Florida soccer team opens its regular season with a game on the road tonight at Miami.

Florida returns almost all of its scorers from a year ago mixed in with a group of talented freshmen and with that combination there are high expectations for this team this season.

Last year the Gators won the SEC championship for a fifth straight time and finished 19-2-3 on the year. Florida also won the SEC Tournament for the first time since 2007.

Miami is in transition with a new coaching staff but this game is a big rivalry game for the Hurricanes so chances are they’ll be ready to play in this one.

Florida will stay on the road and play at FIU on Sunday.
