** The Miami Heat win streak has reached 27 after they blasted Orlando 108-94 last night. LeBron James was one rebound shy of a triple-double.
** The Gator women’s basketball team advanced to the WNIT Sweet 16 after ripping Winthrop 85-53 on the road. UF next plays at Charlotte on Wednesday.
** The NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament continues, and many SEC teams have lost second round games after all SEC teams advanced in the first round. South Carolina, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt all lost while Georgia and Tennessee won second round games. LSU and Kentucky play tonight in second round games.
** Tiger Woods is No. 1 in the world again after winning the Bay Hill Classic yesterday by two strokes.
** The University of Minnesota fired men’s basketball coach Tubby Smith despite the fact that Smith led his team to the NCAA Tournament this year. The Golden Gophers lost to Florida in the third round of the tournament.
** The Gator gymnastics team is hosting an NCAA Regional on April 6. Top-ranked Florida will host Minnesota, Auburn, Maryland, Bridgeport and Pittsburgh. The top two teams and top two all-around competitors (not on an advancing team) from each regional site advanced to the NCAA Championships at UCLA.
