** The NBA Draft takes place tonight and there is a good chance former Gator Erik Murphy will be drafted; most draft experts see him going in the second round.
** Former Gator swimmer Ryan Lochte wins two national titles at the U.S. Swimming Championships; Lochte won the 200 backstroke and the 200 free.
** Former Gator and New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez remains in jail today after being charged with first degree murder yesterday. He faces a possible life in prison term with no parole if convicted on the charge.
** The Cleveland Browns have released rookie linebacker Ausar Walcott after he was charged with attempted first degree murder and other charges stemming from an alleged incident outside a nightclub a few nights ago.
** Wimbledon has already seen a number of top players upset in both men’s and women’s single play. Third seed Roger Federer is gone for the men as is sixth seed Jo-Willfried Tsonga. On the women’s side, second seed Victoria Azarenka and third seed Maria Sharapova are gone as is ninth seeded Caroline Wozniacki.
** In MLB action, Toronto’s R.A. Dickey blanks Tampa Bay 3-0 while Kansas City nips Atlanta 4-3 and Miami downs Minnesota 5-3.
